iPhone's Calendar stays up-to-date

Over at our Mac Gems weblog, our own Dan Frakes has pointed out a solution to make iCal’s dock icon always show the current date, reminding me about one of the nice subtle touches that Apple put into the iPhone: the calendar icon on the home screen always shows the current date and day of the week (apologies for the blurry picture). No month, it’s true, but if you can’t remember what month it is, you probably need more help than the iPhone can provide. Now if only you didn’t have to go through such a tortuous process to make the same happen on your Mac.
