iPhone FAQ : Sync with iTunes
- What is synced from my Mac or PC?
- Your iTunes music, video and podcasts; contacts; calendars; Safari or Internet Explorer bookmarks; email accounts. (Details on each are elsewhere in this FAQ.)
- Can I sync with more than one Mac or PC?
- Yes for calendars and contacts, No for music, videos and podcasts.
- How do I set up sync?
- iTunes 7.3 provides a tabbed iPhone screen very similar to the setup screens for iPods and Apple TV. See Apple's Activation and Setup video for a thorough tour.
- What if I receive a call while syncing?
- iTunes will cancel the sync to enable you to answer the phone.
- Can I sync wirelessly?
- No.
- Can I sync iPhone with multiple PCs or Macs?
- Yes and no. You may sync each type of data (Contacts, Calendars, Mail Accounts, Safari Bookmarks, Music, Photos, Podcasts, Movies and TV Shows) from a different Mac or PC. But, only one Mac or PC controls each grouping of data; iTunes replaces existing content on iPhone. However, iTunes can merge contacts and calendars (this can take a long time), but the process must be repeated manually each time you switch to a new Mac or PC.
